James Lee Hartless

(December 12, 1962 - March 2, 2012)

James Lee Hartless, 49, of Baytown was born December 12, 1962 in Fort Worth and passed away Friday, March 2, 2012 at his home. He was a 1981 graduate of Brazoswood High School and a 1983 graduate of Brazosport College, where he received an Associates Degree. He attended Sam Houston State University and graduated from the Rice Aviation School of Maintenance and was a certified Airframe/Power Plant mechanic. He enjoyed music, photography, and building race cars and was a member of The Houston Buick Club.  


He was preceded in death by his grandparents, James and Amesses Massey and Marion and Myrtle Hartless. He is survived by his parents, Lee and Shirley Hartless of Lake Jackson; sister and brother-in-law, Melissa and Art Jansen of Houston; niece and nephew, Jessica and Artie Jansen; and many cousins.

His family will receive friends at the Alexander Chapel on the Campus of Cedar Bayou Grace United Methodist Church, 2714 Ferry Rd., Baytown, TX 77520, Monday, March 5, 2012 beginning at 9:00 a.m. with a service to follow at 10:00 a.m. with Rev. Luis Ramirez officiating. Burial will follow at Cedarcrest Cemetery.

Serving as pallbearers will be Art Jansen, Artie Jansen, Jimmy Epperson, Britt Tooke, John Kinzer, and Bo Epperson.
