JERRE "PAUL" JOHNSON, JR.

(April 7, 1963  -  November 7, 2016)

J. Paul Johnson, Jr. (Paul), of the Greater Washington, DC area, died on Monday, November 7, 2016, of cancer.

He lived on Surfside Beach briefly before moving to Lake Jackson in 1979, and was a graduate of Brazoswood High School, Class of 1981.  Paul graduated college in Southern Louisiana before moving to Florida.  His travels brought him back to New Orleans, and then to Washington, DC, where he remained for more than 20 years.

Paul had a knack for numbers and people, which led him down several career paths, each one better than the last.  While he enjoyed his work, cars and exercise nothing touched him quite like the water.  The only thing he loved more than boating or simply sitting on the shore was his family.

He is survived by his loving wife, several children, and a new granddaughter that he was fortunate to meet before he passed.  He is also survived by his parents, Dan and Betty Jo McCann, long-time residents of Lake Jackson before they retired to Florida; his sister Juliet Johnson Burton of Friendswood; and his brother, Rodney Johnson.

His memorial service is being held in the Washington DC area.  In lieu of flowers, the family has asked that donations be made to Ronald McDonald House or American Brain Tumor Organization.
