LAWRENCE "LARRY" PASZTOR

(January 11, 1962 - August 14, 2021)

Lawrence “Larry” Pasztor, 59, died peacefully at his Rockport home Saturday evening, August 14, 2021. He was born January 11, 1962 at Brazosport Memorial hospital in Freeport Texas, the third son and tenth child of Joseph E. and Margaret J. Pasztor.

Larry grew up in Lake Jackson TX, attended Brazoswood High School and was passionate about baseball as a youth. He also enjoyed the benefit of a father who presented the great bounty of our earth to his children and became an avid sportsman for the rest of his life. His prowess with rod, gun and bow was admired by many. It was said that “the fish would find Larry” and he often lived up to that claim. His mother bestowed upon him the protection of Saint Brendan, patron Saint of sailors and boatsman because of his affinity for the water. One of his fondest memories was his construction of an accessible blind for his elderly father so they could continue deer hunting together during his father’s late years. Winter was possibly his favorite time of year- a time when he and his brothers enjoyed migratory waterfowl season together in the Gulf Coast salt marsh. Larry also enjoyed RC modeling- a passion he and his brothers learned from their father.

Larry’s career path was in the marine business, starting out as a sandblaster and painter, quickly working his way in to supervision at John Bludworth and on to inspection and technical sales for PPG. An experienced NACE inspector, he was considered a subject matter expert for coatings of barges, ships, and marine facilities.

Larry’s smile was contagious. He always had a kind word to share and was happy to share a positive and encouraging moment with those around him. He is remembered by the staff at TIRR and Methodist Hospital for his upbeat demeanor to staff as well as fellow patients in recovery while facing enormous challenges after suffering injury during Hurricane Harvey’s passage over Rockport in August 2017. Those challenges contributed to his departure from our mortal earth.

Larry was preceded in death by his parents Joseph and Margaret Jurach Pasztor, brother John Ernest Pasztor, and nephew Joey Pasztor.

Larry is survived by his devoted wife of 25 years- Jaqueline Daniel Pasztor of Rockport, step-son Michael Trammell, of Nashville TN. and his faithful canine companions Rooster Cogburn, Peanut, Chuy, and Stinky. He is survived by eight sisters and two brothers: Joseph Pasztor (Linda) of Houston TX, Suzanne Pasztor of Houston TX, Patti Williams (Larry) of Friendswood TX, Kathy Tweeton (Phil) of Willis, TX, Julie Murley (Mickey) of Galveston, TX, Margaret Pratt (Bob) of Clute TX., Mary Jones (Tommy) of Melbourne Beach, FL, Caroline Pasztor (Mike Shannon) of Palmetto FL, Linda Debolt (Bruce) of Pearland TX, and Tommy Pasztor (Deborah) of Lake Jackson TX. He is also survived by numerous nephews, great nephews, nieces and great nieces who have memories of their “Uncle Pickle” to cherish.
